Flash Back

The photo is a throwback shot in honor of my grandpa and dad. I am a third generation photographer. The camera you see here, a Ricoh Diacord - Citizen MV, is my grandpa’s camera, and it was made in the late 50’s. I am not sure if he bought it new or used, but the box says $56.50 – a ton of money back then. The tripod, a Star D Conquest – by Davidson Mfg. Co., is my dad’s vintage 50's era professional tripod.

With that said, I leave you with two quotes fitting for the era and shot:

When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls! ~Ted Grant

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it. ~Author Unknown
